Have Scientists Found the Cause of Alzheimer’s Disease?

An article from AARP’s website discusses a new study about Alzheimer’s Disease which has turned around previous studies as to its cause. Alzheimer’s has traditionally thought to have been caused by sticky plaques in older adults, which it was believed destroyed the brain. However, new research suggests that Alzheimer’s may be caused by floating clumps of protein. In fact, the sticky plaques are now believed to actually be the body’s way of protecting the body from the clumps of protein.
