Does Being Bi-Lingual Help Delay Alzheimer’s?

A recent article in USA Today reported on a study whose findings appear to lend credence that learning a second language helps stave off Alzheimer’s.  While not a cure, older adults can benefit from learning a second language, as it appears that it helps delay the onset of the disease.  To read the entire article, click here.

Would you use a home monitor?

Interesting article on cnn.com about the increased use of home monitoring systems for seniors.  The devices are used in the hopes of keeping seniors in their homes and out of care facilities.  These still seem to be in the developmental stages and I;m sure there are still kinks to work out, but it’s certainly a novel approach – or is it too intrusive?  Here is a link to the article. Senior monitoring systems.
